The Academy offers a select number of students over 4 stages extra training during the year, taking their dancing to the next level.
The Academy will be structured into 4 groups: Pre-Junior, Junior, Intermediate and Senior. With 15 students accepted at each level.
Student’s must do ballet (Grade 1 Prep class and above) to apply but do not need to currently take lessons in the other styles. Being part of the Academy will give students the chance to primarily strengthen their ballet training but they will also experience a variety of styles thus broadening their dance education.
The Academy will be based at Cropthorne Village Hall and will run over 6 Sundays through the academic year. Student must commit to the full programme. In addition there will optional guest teacher workshops throughout the year.
The main 6 Sunday sessions will be run by ex Royal Ballet dancer and Elmhurst teacher, Laura Green. She is an amazing professional teacher who we are so unbelievably lucky to have leading this new group!
Each Sunday session will be 1hour 45mins long and will cost £13 per Sunday.
ACADEMY TIMETABLE 2022-2023
9.00-10.45 Pre-Junior (Grade 1 prep and Grade 1 Exam)
10.50-12.35 Junior (Grade 2 new and exam class)
12.55-2.40 Intermediate (Grade 3 and 4)
2.45-4.30 Senior (Grade 5+)
The Sunday sessions will mainly focus on Ballet technique, giving students a more professional level of training, pushing them to the next level. However, there will also be optional days throughout the year with other amazing guest teachers focusing on a variety of dance styles.
